About Me: Business & Small Non-Profit Organisation Specialist

Do you know that you offer pure gold to your clients, but your marketing isn’t communicating this well?

Do you feel like your website is pretty much sitting there doing nothing, when it could be bringing in leads and actually finally be working for you?

I can help you communicate the gold you can deliver and create connections with the right kinds of clients, so that they’re primed and ready to work with you.

But Why Do You Focus Specifically on Small to Medium Businesses & Small Non-Profit Organisations?

Because I believe that business gives each of us the best opportunity to achieve our unique individual goals, and to serve our communities most effectively.

I love self-employment that much that I’ve run two businesses in completely different industries at the same time.  Not that this is all that unusual, there’s plenty of enterprising people out there running more than one business.

But the situation that resulted in me running two businesses probably wasn’t run of the mill.

Basically, when the Covid pandemic hit, I chose to stand up for individual freedom of choice, which was supposed to be one of our inalienable human rights.  This resulted in me losing my employment with a grand total of four hours notice.

Of course, this period of time was absolutely horrendous for all of us.  And a lot of us were being threatened with large fines and coerced into things we didn’t want to do.

I was lucky in that I didn’t have five dependent children to feed or a large mortgage to service at the time, which enabled me to make the choice I made.

I will also fight for the right of all human beings to freely choose their beliefs and what they do with their own bodies and their own lives at any point, and that’s also why I did what I did.

I thought about my beautiful young nieces and nephews and I wanted them to enjoy the same rights as I’d had up to that point.

However when I made this decision, I then couldn’t get employment anywhere without providing a government certificate stating something that should have been a completely private medical matter.

I was operating an earlier version of this business at the time, but it was more of a side hustle and it wasn’t bringing in enough income to support me.

So I chose to start another business, because running a business was the only way I could earn a living and keep myself fed.  I was able to start this particular business with little equipment or capital and it allwed me to start advertising and earning income quickly.

Essentially though, without the right to run a business I could have literally been starved out of existence.

As a result, I believe it is absolutely critical that the right to run a business as a self-determining individual must always be protected.  And I really want to help down to earth and enterprising business owners like you better connect with your ideal clients and make more money.

There is seriously nothing more important than our individual right to pursue our dreams, earn our own income, and live our lives according to our own values.

Luckily, people have backed me and my businesses, and I’ll be forever grateful to the whole of joyous humanity for this.

I want to help other people who have also put immeasurable amounts of their own blood sweat and tears into running their own business to achieve greater returns from doing so.

But Why Should I Work With You?

I come to marketing with a deep desire to serve and to help businesses grow, as per these testimonials from businesses and small non-profit organisations.  I’m not here to throw marketing buzzwords around in order to stroke my own ego, I’m here to help people like you attract the right kinds of clients and grow your bottom line.

I started this business with just a home office and a computer on a farm 330 kilometres north east of Perth.

Like a lot of us, I got to the point where I could no longer ignore that drive within me to create my own enterprise and it’s increasingly loud and persistent calls.

My background is however actually in rural economic and community development, working for small rural community resource centres and local governments.

In this field I discovered that I loved getting new infrastructure in on the ground that improved communities, and that I loved working with a variety of businesses as part of doing so.

Because without these Australian businesses, there wouldn’t have been any results on the ground at all.

*If you want the specifics of my economic and community development background, this is my formal yawn worthy blurb:

I have over 10 years of experience in the economic and community development field.  With a team of volunteers I established Westonia’s Hood-Penn Museum, a museum that has become an extremely popular tourist destination with three pages of rave reviews on Tripadvisor.  I also re-invigorated the Nungarin Community Resource Centre (CRC), visitor centre and post office agency which was operating on reduced hours and was languishing financially and administratively when I took on the Coordinator’s position.  I introduced a number of products,  services and initiatives that left the CRC and visitor centre in a strong financial position and with a renewed Australia Post contract.

I also created the Bruce Rock Remembrance Park in the heart of Bruce Rock.  As a result of the annual Bruce Rock Back to the Bush Veterans Reunion created by local veterans, the town had a number of significant war memorials in a central area of the town.  I organised the relocation of these to meaningful locations within a park on the town’s main street and both sourced and coordinated the installation of supporting artworks, interpretive signage and attractive garden areas.  Australian artists and engineering businesses contributed a beautiful stained glass piece, a stencilled corten steel artwork with continuously changing coloured lights inside, as well as a kinetic metal sculpture that provides an ongoing dynamic display with the use of only slight breezes.

I secured over $363,000 of Lotterywest funding for a new museum wing adding a significant new collection to Westonia’s Hood-Penn Museum.  This grant also funded the adaptation of an existing community site to create a recreation hub area that includes a new men’s shed, community garden and other facilities.

More About Me

  • I have a sense of humour and I’m honest, down to earth and reliable.
  • I provide a personal service, because that’s where the joy is.  None of us like being treated like a number and I don’t work with massive corporations or large government for this very reason.
  • I love loud music, comedy, animals and glitter.  My car is a mobile disco.
  • I grew up in a family owned and run agricultural business.  Specifically, a sheep station near Mount Magnet in Western Australia.  There, I was privileged to have been educated through Meekatharra School of the Air.  From a young age I loved being involved in an agricultural business, and the opportunity to help with mustering, lamb tailing and drafting. The busiest times of the year were always during the school holidays, and I thrived on being an integral part of the operation. There were dogs around, chooks to feed and motorbikes to ride.  I had the most beautiful childhood in the world.
  • I have a practical, useful, real-life perspective and a well-developed ability to listen.  I also have a good understanding of how different businesses operate because I’ve worked across economic and community development, agriculture, tourism, community services, postal services, waste management, procurement, taxation/accountancy, research, horticulture, aged care and mining.   I’ve worked for business, non-profits, and small rural local governments.  Location wise, I’ve worked in the pilbara, on a wheat/sheep farm in the eastern wheatbelt, and in regional Western Australian centres like Geraldton and Merredin.  I currently live and work from Goomalling in the wheatbelt of Western Australia.
  • I’m not impressed by certificates or pieces of paper, but if you’re interested I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Curtin University which provided grounding in the psychology of marketing and communication.  I’m also a graduate of Marie Forleo’s B-School program and I’ve completed Search Engine Optimisation courses with Ahrefs, Hubspot Academy, Marketing Profs and Yoast.
  • I offer a 100% money back guarantee if you aren’t completely satisfied with anything I produce.
